On 4 – 6 December 2023, the University College of Logos in Tirana hosted a kickoff event that marked the beginning of the Homo Digitalis project. This innovative project, as a part of the ERASMUS+ programme, brought together a consortium of European and Western Balkans Higher Education Institutions, including the International Business College Mitrovica (IBC-M), which was represented by Prof. Bujar Gallopeni, Gresa Ferri, and Damir Gashi from the BD/Project office.

The first day of the event featured welcome addresses from the project Coordinator Prof. Konstantinos Giakoumis, who provided a short introduction to himself, his team, and Homo Digitalis project objectives and goals, wishing everyone a successful project implementation.  Then each of the Consortium partners presented briefly their institutions, IBC-M included. IBC-M was tasked to lead the ‘Quality Assurance’ Work Package 5, coordinated by Gresa Ferri, which is vital in maintaining high standards in the project activities. Mrs. Gresa Ferri provided insights into the methods and strategies IBC-M plans to employ to ensure the homo Digitalis project’s success.

On the second day of the Quality Monitoring Committee, IBC-M’s professor Bujar Gallopeni opened the discussion on various critical aspects of the Homo Digitalis project, such as the Quality Monitoring Action Plan and Quality Management Committee. Prof. Bujar Gallopeni highlighted IBC-M’s pivotal role in steering the project towards excellence, outlining the framework and standards that will guide the project’s progress ensuring its outcomes are of the highest quality.

The kick-off event of the Homo Digitalis project was a success, with IBC-M playing a crucial role in emphasizing the importance of quality assurance in this very ambitious project. The collaborative efforts of all partners set a strong foundation for the success of the Homo Digitalis project. The kick-off event marked the beginning of a significant educational endeavor in the field of Digital Humanities and showed the commitment of Higher education institutions like IBC-M to foster excellence in Erasmus+ projects.
