The “Strengthening University Autonomy and Increasing Accountability and Transparency of Western Balkan Universities,”- STAND Project, hosted the 2nd dissemination event at the University of Montenegro in Podgorica. This event aimed to share the project’s accomplishments beyond the Consortium partners, with a particular focus on its core objective of enhancing university autonomy.

Prof. Dr. Veselin Mićanović, Vice-Rector for Education at the University of Montenegro, and Prof. Dr. Dijana Vučković, a member of the UCG Governing Board, led the coordination and opening of the meeting. They welcomed attendees, emphasizing the importance of the project’s outcomes for the advancement of higher education in Montenegro.

Dragana Ćetković, MA, the Director of the Directorate for Higher Education and Student Standards from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Innovation, reaffirmed the Ministry’s dedication to enhancing university autonomy and improving student standards in Montenegro. She also announced the establishment of a working group tasked with drafting a new Higher Education Law, reflecting the commitment to reform and progress in the sector.

Prof. Agron Hajdari and Gresa Ferri from IBC-M provided updates on the upcoming responsibilities related to the completion of all project activities. They highlighted the production of book chapters on University Autonomy, which will complement the project outcomes and contribute to the dissemination of knowledge and best practices.

Throughout the meeting, attendees from various institutions engaged in discussions and exchanged insights on the progress and impact of the STAND project. The collaborative efforts and expertise shared during the event underscored the collective commitment to driving positive change and promoting sustainable development in Montenegro’s higher education sector.
