SMARTEL PROJECT: IMPROVING THE PROCESS OF EDUCATION THROUGH THE DEVELOPMENT OF E-LEARNING MULTIMEDIA PLATFORM AND SMART CLASSROOMS
International Business College Mitrovica (IBC-M) has become engaged as a partner higher education institution (HEI) on the SMARTEL ERASMUS+ project, being launched with a kick-off meeting held online on 8th and 9th of February 2021.
During this meeting chaired by prof. Dr. Siniša Ilić, project coordinator who welcomed the SMARTEL project consortium composed of 6 partner HEIs from the Western Balkans and 4 HEIs from the European Union, partners had the opportunity to present firstly their institutional organization, study program structures, number of students, teaching and non-teaching staff, their regional and international cooperation engagement. Along with that, during the first day of the meeting, the project partners presented their current situation regarding their organization of distance learning approaches and platforms introduced after the outbreak of the Covid-19 virus pandemic. In addition, during the first day of the meeting, there have been presented the general and specific goals of the project and the activities that would take place within the project work packages as well as the time frames for the execution of activities. Also, all indicators of progress of project activities, i.e. tangible deliverables for each individual activity in the work packages, were presented.
The second day of the kick-off meeting was reserved for creating Project Management Bodies (Steering Committee – SC, Project Management Board – PMB and Project Quality Control and Monitoring Board- PQCMB) and organization of the related bodies meetings. The last part of the meeting during the second day was reserved for presentation of the visual identity of the project and organization of the project website (smartel.pr.ac.rs).
After all meeting sessions, a short discussion was held between the representatives of the partner institutions on the presented content, regarding the possibility of the implementation of forseen project activities and deliverables and setting up the activity plan for the upcoming period.
