As part of activities foreseen under the Al4Life Erasmus+ project, the International Business College Mitrovica (IBC-M) recently hosted EU HEIs from the University of Bologna and the University of Ljubljana. This visit was part of Work Package 2, titled “Establishing of Alumni Engagement Institutional Framework”, aiming at creating a comprehensive strategy for connecting with alumni, setting up the necessary infrastructure like offices and digital platforms, and launching networking events and mentorship opportunities.
The visitors were welcomed by the rector of IBC-M, Prof. Mihone Kerolli, who introduced them to the staff members present, the IBC-M history, its objectives, and long-term goals. Rector Kerolli thanked the EU partners for their contribution to the Al4Life project but also for their support in developing the framework for the future Alumni office at IBC-M, underscoring the importance of collaboration between HEIs in Europe and the region in developing a strong academic community.
IBC-M Al4Life project coordinator Professor Agron Hajdari took our guests through a brief tour of the Riverside campus, showing them the college infrastructure, classrooms, laboratories, and the future Alumni office on the second floor of the campus. This office will be a place for former students to connect, collaborate, and contribute to the ongoing development of the college community.
After a campus tour, Prof. Agron Hajdari presented the Alumni Strategy, focusing on the long-term engagement of IBC-M graduates and establishing a network that supports both the alumni and the institution, with an emphasis on the diaspora community. Prof. Agron Hajdari presented IBC-M objectives, initiatives, and expected outcomes of the Alumni Strategy, which will enhance alumni relations and foster a sense of community among IBC-M graduates.
The following session was dedicated to a Q&A and discussion, where our EU partners from the University of Bologna and the University of Ljubljana posed questions, exchanged ideas with IBC-M staff, and provided feedback on the Al4Life project activities implemented by IBC-M.
The event was a great opportunity for IBC-M to encourage further collaboration with partners on the project, sharing a joint vision in achieving academic excellence and collaboration. As IBC-M continues to progress with the Al4Life project, this visit will be remembered as a significant step forward in establishing a proper framework for IBC-M and its Alumni office.
