The Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) has officially approved its Strategic Plan 2026–2030, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s ongoing development and long-term vision. The decision was taken during the 29th meeting of the Steering Council, setting a clear and ambitious direction for the college in the years ahead.

This Strategic Plan serves as a comprehensive roadmap for strengthening IBCM’s position as a leading higher education institution in the region, focusing on quality education, innovation, internationalization, and meaningful community impact.

Strategic Priorities

The Strategy is structured around four core priorities that will guide institutional development:

  • Quality and Growth
  • Community Engagement
  • Social and Environmental Sustainability
  • Processes, Systems, and Digital Support

These priorities reflect IBCM’s commitment to delivering high-quality education, fostering inclusive engagement with society, promoting sustainability, and enhancing institutional efficiency through digital transformation.

Key Development Objectives

To achieve its vision, the Strategic Plan outlines seven key objectives:

  • Strengthening institutional growth through market-driven academic programs and quality education
  • Advancing excellence by enhancing research, development, and innovation capacities
  • Expanding the international profile through partnerships, mobility, and global cooperation
  • Modernizing infrastructure and learning environments to support creativity and academic excellence
  • Increasing IBCM’s contribution to socio-economic development through collaboration with industry and community stakeholders
  • Enhancing institutional culture to ensure a supportive, inclusive, and responsive environment for students, alumni, and staff
  • Ensuring long-term financial sustainability and institutional resilience

Inclusive Development Process

The development of the Strategic Plan was led by an IBCM Working Group and carried out through an extensive and inclusive consultation process. This process actively involved academic and administrative staff, as well as students, ensuring that the Strategy reflects the needs, perspectives, and aspirations of the entire IBCM community.

Institutional and International Support

The Strategic Plan was developed with the support of the SHER Program, funded by the Austrian Development Agency and co-financed by the Ministry of Education and Science in Kosovo. The program is implemented by WUS Austria, Zentrum für Soziale Innovation (ZSI), and OeAD.

This support highlights the importance of international cooperation in strengthening institutional capacities and advancing higher education standards in Kosovo.
