The Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) participated in the Training of Trainers (ToT) organized under the WB-Edu4Migration project, funded by the European Commission through Erasmus+. The training was led by IULM University (Italy) and took place on 17–18 November at AAB College in Prishtina, followed by sessions on 20–21 November at Barleti University, in collaboration with LOGOS University College in Tirana.
The training brought together academic staff and project partners from across the Western Balkans. Ten IBCM professors joined colleagues from AAB College and the University of Gjakova “Fehmi Agani,” reflecting the college’s commitment to strengthening staff expertise and contributing to regional capacity-building initiatives.
The sessions were delivered by the IULM team, with Fabio De Giorgio leading the in-person components and professors Andrea Miconi and Simona Pezzano providing online support. Their coordinated approach ensured a structured, interactive, and engaging learning experience for all participants.
The first day introduced the core concepts of micro-credentials, their main characteristics, the international standards guiding their development, and their growing importance in contemporary higher education. Participants discussed how micro-credentials encourage flexible learning pathways and respond to emerging educational and labor-market needs.
The second day focused on practical implementation. Participants worked with materials developed under Work Package 3, designed course structures, defined learning outcomes, and developed examples of teaching and learning activities. These tasks helped institutions understand how the presented frameworks can be applied in developing their own micro-credential courses.
The ToT offered valuable opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange, and institutional development among regional partner universities. For IBCM, the involvement of ten faculty members marked a significant step in advancing institutional expertise in micro-credential development and supporting more innovative and flexible learning models for students in the Western Balkans.
