
The Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) had the pleasure of hosting Anna Jagiełło-Szostak, Assistant Professor at the Department of Eastern Research, Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Wrocław.
Titled “Poland – Western Balkans: Contemporary Relations,” the lecture provided students with valuable insights into the evolving cooperation between Poland and the Western Balkans (WB6).
During the session, Dr. Jagiełło-Szostak explored key dimensions of these relations, including political engagement through European Union and NATO enlargement processes, economic cooperation through trade and investment, and security contributions through participation in international missions such as KFOR. She also highlighted the importance of socio-cultural exchange, education, and governance reforms as part of broader regional collaboration efforts.
The lecture further addressed Poland’s approach to the Western Balkans through bilateral partnerships, multilateral initiatives, and the challenges and opportunities shaping future cooperation in the region.
In addition to the guest lecture, Dr. Jagiełło-Szostak held productive meetings with IBCM leadership, including Rector Prof. Dr Mihone Kerolli, Dean Flamur Abazaj, and academic staff members Prof. Asst Labinot Hajdari and Prof. Asst Judita Krasniqi, who initiated the cooperation between the two institutions.
The discussions focused on strengthening institutional cooperation and exploring future joint academic and international activities between IBCM and the University of Wrocław.
This visit was organized within the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility Programme, reaffirming IBCM’s commitment to internationalization, academic exchange, and international cooperation.
