The Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) hosted a guest lecture by Ms. Albana Shala Bunjaku on the topic “Property Tax and Real Estate Assessment in Kosovo.”
During the lecture, students had the opportunity to gain practical insights into the implementation of property tax in Kosovo and the evolution of real estate assessment practices over the years.
Ms. Shala Bunjaku discussed how property tax data collection was previously conducted manually through field visits to households, while today the process has become significantly more efficient and modernized through improved systems and institutional practices. She also explained various challenges related to real estate and land sales, including cases where land is sold together with residential buildings and apartments.
Another important aspect of the lecture focused on the transition of funding mechanisms and the role of the Ministry of Finance in the implementation and regulation of property tax policies in Kosovo.
The session provided students with valuable real-world perspectives on public finance, taxation systems, and real estate assessment, encouraging discussion and deeper understanding of institutional and economic developments in Kosovo.
IBCM extends its sincere appreciation to Ms. Albana Shala Bunjaku for sharing her expertise and professional experience with our students.
