The Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) welcomed a delegation from Université Bretagne-Sud (UBS) on 20–21 November 2025, as part of the ongoing cooperation that began with the Memorandum of Understanding signed in September. The MoU outlines joint academic initiatives, student and staff exchanges, and long-term strategic development between the two institutions.
The UBS delegation, represented by Ms. Morag Champy McLean, Vice President International, and Ms. Sandra Vessier, Director of International Affairs, was received by Rector Prof. Dr. Mihone Kerolli-Mustafa, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Projects, Innovation, and Research Prof. Dr. Ekrem Gjokaj, and Vice-Rector for Budgets, Finance, Infrastructure, Administration, and Dean of the Faculty of International Business Management, Prof. Assoc. Jelena Stanojevic, Secretary-General Ms. Jehona Murati Dugolli. The meetings also included the participation of Prof. Asst. Marko Smilic, Dean of the Faculty of Environment, Technology and IT, and Dean Flamur Abazaj of the Faculty of Social Sciences, along with administrative staff and the relevant offices across IBCM.
Throughout the two-day visit, the discussions focused on following up on the commitments of the MoU and defining practical steps for the next phase of collaboration. A key topic was the development of a double degree in the Applied IT programme, with particular attention to cooperation between IBCM and the UBS Department of Data Science. Further strengthening of the partnership in Business Management and Marketing Techniques was also explored, ensuring that the cooperation extends across multiple study fields.
The visit also served to finalise preparations for the implementation of student exchanges starting next academic year. Both institutions reviewed academic structures, mobility procedures, and administrative requirements to ensure that the exchange programme operates smoothly from the very first cohort. This included examining how credit recognition, course alignment, and placement logistics will be managed in practice.
The programme of the visit followed a detailed agenda beginning with an official welcome meeting with the Rector, followed by the presentation of IBCM’s Internationalisation Strategy and a campus tour. Discussions on mobility, research cooperation, and faculty-level meetings filled the remainder of the visit, complemented by participation in events at the French Institute in Pristina and a reception hosted by the French Ambassador. The visit concluded with a final coordination meeting with the Quality Assurance, where the next steps for the partnership were outlined.
IBCM expresses its appreciation for the constructive and forward-looking engagement of the UBS delegation and looks forward to the implementation of the agreed activities, particularly the launch of the exchange programme and the advancement of joint academic initiatives. The visit reaffirmed the commitment of both institutions to building a strong, sustainable, and impactful international collaboration that benefits students, staff, and the broader academic community.
