On March 10-11, 2025, a delegation from the Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) visited the University of Patras, Greece, as part of the Erasmus+ Homo Digitalis project. The delegation was led by Vice-Rector Prof. Asst. Bujar Gallopeni, accompanied byDean Flamur Abazaj, Prof. Asst. Florim Gallopeni, and Lecturer Damir Gashi.
The visit commenced with a warm reception at the University of Patras, where IBCM representatives were welcomed by Vice-Rector for Strategic Internationalization and Extroversion, Professor D. Mantzavinos. Discussions focused on international partnerships and future collaborations between IBCM and the University of Patras.
The delegation then explored the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, including a visit to the Interactive Technologies Lab, where Prof. D. Koukopoulos showcased innovations in human-computer interaction. Later in the afternoon, the delegation was introduced to the Visualization and Virtual Reality Group, where experts presented their research on virtual reality, mixed reality, haptics, and biomechanics.
The second day included a tour of the University Library and Information Center, where the delegation learned about efforts to provide equal access to education, including support for students with disabilities.
The IBCM delegation also explored the Center of Teaching and Learning, developed under the Erasmus+ MAGNET project, discussing synergies with the Homo Digitalis project, particularly in Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). The visit concluded at the Didactics Laboratory, where researchers demonstrated innovative pedagogical methods in science, mathematics, and ICT.
The study visit provided valuable insights into digital learning, technology-enhanced education, and research methodologies. Discussions throughout the visit paved the way for potential collaborations in psychology, digital learning, and technology-supported education.
IBCM remains committed to fostering international partnerships and contributing to the advancement of digital learning and interdisciplinary education through initiatives like the Erasmus+ Homo Digitalis project.
