The fifth training session for teaching staff on transport of dangerous goods (TDG) took place from April 23–25, 2024, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Montenegro in Podgorica. The event focused on enhancing teaching methodologies and sharing best practices in TDG, an area critical to ensuring safety and efficiency in transport operations.

The training covered a range of essential topics, including:
- TDG as an Interdisciplinary Field – Emphasizing the importance of collaboration to navigate the complex landscape of competencies.
- Transport of Liquid Oil Derivatives in Montenegro – Challenges and insights into local practices.
- Engagement with Stakeholders – Open discussions with industry representatives to address practical concerns and solutions.
- Lukana doo Case Study – Sharing real-world experiences in transporting hazardous materials.
- Risk Assessment Models – Developing models using ALOHA and GIS software tools to identify and manage risks in TDG.
- Vehicle Compliance Procedures – Steps for inspecting TDG vehicles in line with ADR (European Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road).
- Laboratory Visits – A hands-on session at the Vehicle Testing Laboratory and the Laboratory for Vehicle Diagnostics.
- Training Programs and Content – Presentations on handbook content, tailored training programs, and teaching staff selected as trainees in Western Balkans.
Steering and Project Management Meetings
In conjunction with the training, the third Steering Committee (SC) meeting and the third Project Management Committee (PMC) meeting were also held. These sessions provided a platform to evaluate project progress, discuss strategic decisions, and ensure alignment with project goals.
The event was a vital step in fostering expertise and cooperation in TDG education and safety practices, while also facilitating dialogue among academics, industry professionals, and project leaders.
