The International Business College Mitrovica, within the scope of its ResearchCult project have signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Higher Education, Research and Applied Science project (HERAS Plus) that will focus on establishing the first Research Information System in Kosovo.
This MoU will focus on collaboration on the design and development of the systems by both parties during the implementation activities in their repective projects –  namely the Kosovo Research Information System (KRIS – ResearchCult) and the Current Information Research System (CRIS – HERAS Plus), with further support in both cases provided by Kosovo’s Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation.
Mr. Harri Tuomola, Executive Director of IBC-M , welcomed the HERAS Plus team in the MoU signing ceremony and opened the event by thanking HERAS Plus for its role in enhancing higher education, research and innovation and the willingness for cooperation. He further acknowledged the joint endeavor for contributing towards a research information system that will contribute to the enhancement of the research outputs and collaboration.
Mr. Aqim Emurli, leader of the HERAS Plus project team, noted that HERAS Plus, a project funded by Austrian Development Agency, is dedicated to improving the higher education and the research landscape in Kosovo with activities ranging from interventions in policy-making to building capacities and supporting universities. He emphasized the importance of this MoU in creating synergies which will be translated into this specific activity through added value features, functions, and regulation of the research system.
The process of developing CRIS/ KRIS, initially defined in a draft-roadmap prepared by a HERAS Plus international expert, will be presented for discussion in a stakeholder partner workshop that will allow comments and discussion on the document.
