From January 7 to 21, 2025, Prof. Ass. Dr. Labinot Hajdari, a distinguished academic from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM), visited the Institute for International Relations at the University Marie Curie-Skłodowska (UMCS) in Lublin, Poland. During his visit, Prof. Ass. Dr. Hajdari taught the course “Public Diplomacy and Soft Power” to undergraduate students, offering them valuable insights into the dynamics of modern diplomacy and international relations.

The course explored the key aspects of public diplomacy, including its connection to soft power, cultural diplomacy, and nation-building. Students gained practical knowledge of how states and non-state actors engage foreign publics to shape perceptions and influence global discourse. Prof. Ass. Dr. Hajdari’s lectures helped students understand how public diplomacy is crucial for enhancing the international image of nations, particularly in today’s interconnected world.

In addition to his primary teaching role, Prof. Ass. Dr. Hajdari was invited to lecture on two other important topics: “Disinformation in Kosovo” as part of the “Threats in Cyberspace” course and “Kosovo’s Political System and Foreign Policy” within the framework of the course “Political Systems in the Region.” These lectures provided an in-depth look at the political landscape of Kosovo, the challenges it faces in the digital age, and its foreign policy objectives.

During his visit, Prof. Ass. Dr. Hajdari met with Professor Marek Pietraś, Director of the Institute for International Relations, and members of the academic staff at UMCS’s Faculty of Political Science and Journalism. The meetings centered around enhancing academic cooperation and exploring opportunities for joint initiatives between the institutions. Prof. Ass. Dr. Hajdari’s visit is a testament to the strengthening ties between IBCM and prestigious international academic institutions, fostering cross-border collaboration in education and research.

The partnership between IBCM and UMCS marks a significant step in expanding academic horizons and encouraging future exchanges of knowledge and expertise.
