The Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) proudly continues the second cycle of the VirtuEU project with an insightful session titled “Women’s Leadership and Inclusive Decision-Making in Open Participation Processes.” This session, coordinated by Prof. Asst. Vjosë Latifi and led by Prof. Asst. Judita Krasniqi, brought together students, academics, and project partners for an engaging discussion on leadership and civic participation.

With a strong turnout both in-person and online, the session sparked in-depth conversations on the role of women in leadership and the importance of inclusive decision-making frameworks. Participants explored how diverse perspectives lead to better governance and more effective policies, reinforcing VirtuEU’s mission to foster democratic engagement and equal opportunities.

Key Highlights from the Session:

  • Interactive Discussions – Attendees actively engaged in thought-provoking debates, sharing real-world examples of inclusive leadership and open governance.
  • Multidisciplinary Approach – The session brought together students from various academic backgrounds, encouraging a richer exchange of perspectives.
  • Practical Impact – Insights gained will directly contribute to shaping future VirtuEU initiatives, helping participants translate discussions into actionable change in their respective fields.

Why This Matters?

Globally, only 27.2 % of parliamentary seats are held by women, according to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (2025). The VirtuEU project plays a critical role in empowering future leaders to bridge this gap, ensuring that young voices—especially women—are actively involved in policy-making and governance.

IBCM remains dedicated to fostering a culture of active citizenship, where students don’t just observe but become key contributors to democratic processes. This session is another step forward in that commitment.
