Zagreb, 28/11/2024 – A new chapter in academic collaboration was marked today as the Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FSB) at the University of Zagreb signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership reflects a mutual dedication to advancing education, research, and innovation, paving the way for future opportunities for students and faculty alike.

The MoU was formalized at Zagreb where IBCM’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Mihone Kerolli Mustafa, and FSB Zagreb’s Dean, prof. dr. sc. Zdenko Tonković, highlighted the significance of fostering meaningful international connections.

“This agreement is not just about formalizing a partnership—it’s about creating bridges between institutions, disciplines, and most importantly, people,” said Rector Kerolli of IBCM. “We see this as an opportunity to blend the practical, hands-on education that IBCM is known for with the expertise of FSB Zagreb. Together, we will equip our students to tackle global challenges with innovative solutions.”

Under this MoU, IBCM and FSB Zagreb will collaborate on diverse initiatives, including staff exchange programs, student exchange programs,  joint research projects, the development of interdisciplinary academic programs, and enhanced opportunities for student and staff exchange. Special focus will be placed on sustainable development and industry-driven solutions, aligning with the priorities of both institutions.

Dean Tonković of FSB Zagreb emphasized the shared vision between the two institutions: “Both FSB and IBCM share a belief in the power of collaboration to inspire innovation. Through this partnership, we aim to harness our collective strengths to address some of today’s most pressing challenges.”

Students at both institutions stand to benefit greatly from this partnership, with opportunities to participate in exchange programs, internships, and cross-border academic initiatives. These programs are designed to encourage intercultural understanding, enhance employability, and promote cutting-edge knowledge in fields such as engineering, business, and sustainable development.

The signing of this MoU is a step forward in IBCM’s mission to provide its students with a globally connected education while reinforcing the college’s position as a hub for innovation and academic excellence in the region.
