IBC-M has joined the newly created Network for Research and Education of Kosovo, formed by the Ministry of Economy and Environment (MAE) along with 19 other higher educational institutions (HEI). The 20 universities and colleges have come together, alongside the MAE and signed a memorandum of understanding which will be important for connecting education and technology, according to Minister Blerim Kuçi. The purpose of this memorandum is to promote economic development and increase employment through the inclusion of information an
communication technology, in particular access to technology and knowledge resources for students and professors at HEIs in Kosovo.

The coordinator of the project for digital economy in Kosovo (KODE), Fjolla Restelica-Ahmeti, stressed that the project aims to finance activities that will enable digital transformation in
Kosovo. She iterated the importance of such a network, stating that “only Kosovo in the region has yet to create such a network and it is more than necessary……to offer cooperation between our universities initially, as well as a connection with the largest European network of research and research scientists in Europe.”

The network claims to achieve the development of a research community, providing the community with access to various digital resources, such as modern IT infrastructure, digital services, access to literature, as well as to provide collaboration opportunities between HEIs both
inside and outside Kosovo.
