IBC-M is delighted to announce an upgrade to their previously named Bachelor degree in Public Service Management which will offer students greater opportunities to specialise while maintaining the broader focus of public administration within the programme. The study programme will be renamed accordingly to a Bachelor degree in Public Administration and Welfare with specialisations available in Public Service Management and Social Work with full accreditation recently received from IBC-M’s German partner, the Evalag accreditation agency for the implementation of the newly devised degree.
Within the scope of the study programme students will undertake core courses during the initial two semesters of the bachelor degree, following which they choose to specialize in either Public Service Management or Social Work where they will complete a further 3-taught semesters followed by a one-semester internship and bachelor thesis. The specialisations offered within the programme allow for a wider range of employment to graduates of IBC-M, with potential opportunities emerging within public institutions at a local and central level in various departments, community and civil society-based organisations, at centres for social work as a counselor or social worker, while the appeal of social entrepreneurship is a growing driver among this graduate group.
Graduates who specialise within the field of Public Service Management will form the backbone of the future public administrations within the region throughout the wider hierarchal spectrum of public institutions and agencies. This specialisation ensures a broad range of job opportunities, while the programme itself will deliver a high quality workforce with an excellent understanding of the democratic process and the requirements of a modern governance structure.
