“We serve with people of Kosovo and to people of Kosovo.”
A group of IBC-M students together with two professors visited the UN Development Office in Prishtina, where they met with Ms. Ulrika Richardson-the UN Development Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative- and Mr. Shpend Qamili-Communication Analyst, UNDCO at UN Kosovo Team.
Ms. Richardson warmly welcomed us and expressed her delight regarding our visit. She talked to our students about the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), the steps towards socio-economic development, internships UNKT offers and the volunteering programme. She also stressed how we should be careful of the sources and environment.
Whereas with Mr. Qamili our students mainly discussed about the UN entities such as Unicef, WHO, UNHE, UN Women and others, the SDG and MDG (Millenium Development Goals), UN’s home film influence, poverty and social inclusion.
For our students, it was a great chance to learn how the UN operates and how it uses its expertise to better socio-economic issues in Kosovo.
